Fostering Connections

Our project is dedicated to fostering connections between people from all backgrounds, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

Through shared experiences, learning opportunities, and social gatherings, we celebrate diversity and promote understanding.

Join us in creating a stronger, more connected community where everyone feels valued and heard.

Power Of Community

At Sunrise Multicultural Project, we believe in the power of community and the importance of belonging. Our project is dedicated to fostering connections between people from all backgrounds, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

We offer a variety of workshops, community groups and activities designed to support the integration of minority groups, helping individuals and families feel at home and connected within their local communities.

Since 1995, we have been creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive.

For nearly 30 years, we have worked to promote cultural understanding and help minority groups integrate and build meaningful connections.

Building Stronger More Connected Communities

At Sunrise Multicultural Project, we believe that bringing people together is at the heart of building stronger, more connected communities.

Our Community Cohesion & Social Connection Impact Snapshot highlights how our activities and services help reduce social isolation, encourage friendships, build trust and create a greater sense of belonging among people from different cultures, faiths, ages and backgrounds across Banbury.

Using recent participation figures and real examples from our Men’s Drop-In and Thriving in Nature programme, this short report demonstrates how shared experiences, community activities and meaningful connections make a positive difference to people’s lives.

Community Research

We are proud to share What We Heard About Cancer and Access to Healthcare, a community research report led by Sunrise Multicultural Project with support from Healthwatch Oxfordshire.

Around 20 women from our community shared their experiences of cancer awareness, screening and accessing healthcare, helping to identify barriers including GP access, waiting times, language and interpreting support, while also highlighting the power of trusted community networks and peer support.

The research has already led to practical action, including a breast health session with the Oxford Breast Imaging Centre and the findings have been shared with organisations helping to shape cancer services.
